In my opinion the more the game goes on the more it dies. it's kind of sad since it seems like only a few people at flowplay care about keeping it alive. This game was my everything when I was 10 and I wish others could experience that.

That means it's mostly up to us players

I wouldn't call it "dead" but it's not the same ourWorld I grew up with. It doesn't feel like anything really "new" or "exciting" has happened for years and I don't want to see one of my favorite games from my childhood go up in flames.
I really wish they would do more item design contests (Like the 2012 Ultimate Summer contest) and/or offer more Country-related items (i.e 2012 Track Jackets/Bags/Flags) like maybe flag capes? Like if there was more involvement with the players of ourWorld for future item designs/ideas/contests I think it would be really beneficial to the game.

Not to mention so much of the ourWorld player base cares more about items and their "cost/value" that people have resorted to going against TOS and selling/buying for IRL money. I really wish there would be better ways to get older items because the gem costs on the Zoe's Club are way ridiculous (i.e +20K gems for Oct. 2009 Vamp set when 1k gems costs 20USD), it tempts the people that want older/expensive items for FAR cheaper to risk getting banned (especially the sellers, they can make some real money doing this before getting banned) and the Zoe's Auction always has the same-old stuff cycling through it because of item popularity, it makes getting a hold of certain older items nearly impossible (certain countries from the 2012 track).

I would just really enjoy it if there was more interaction with the player base and an improvement on how to obtain old items that won't tempt a player/players to go against TOS.
I understand that all of this could be implemented into ourWorld and it does nothing to improve the game because it's ultimately up to us players to keep it alive and functioning, but those are just some ideas I have.

I really hope that they find an alternative to flash, I've been on since 2008 and it was basically my childhood :c

I'll say it's dead bc nothing new is happening. I wish they'll come out with more unique story missions and make it more interactive for the users, esp new users to get into it. Like how someone mentioned above about making new design contests etc, but I think they had one sorta recently about the homepage art?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they didn't even have the stocking in Winter 2019.

ourWorld isn't pushing as much content as before which kind of makes the game not as exciting, but I've always figured it's because they've been trying to work on bringing it away from Flash and it's hard to create new items that'll eventually be transferred away from Flash to a new program/component. There hasn't been any releases of new condo items in quite a while besides the monthly ones either but condo things aren't particularly a big thing to majority of the ourWorld community since some people don't really do much with their condos in the first place.

Another situation is vegasWorld which actually brings in the bread when comparing ourWorld and vegasWorld together. It's targeted to a more mature audience that can actually spend a bit of their money on the game, more than a younger audience.

So basically, they aren't pushing as much content as Flash is going to end at the end of this year and they only have 9 months left to try and transfer probably hundreds of thousands of items and lines of codes onto a new platform that contains over 10 years of work as well as transferring their other game which also has years of work and many many lines of code.

That's pretty much what I'm assuming but I honestly don't know. I hope they can update us about what's going on behind the scenes but it's stressful and a lot of work!

I don't think so. There are a lot more active users than we think, most of them just don't come out of their condos or use public chat very much.
I think Flowplay is so focused on trying to move these platforms that there just isn't much time to create new items, etc. I think a lot of the community interraction has gone away, as far as the company goes and with that I've seen a lot of people leave too. Because we're not receiving this communication, people are beginning to speculate the future of OurWorld. I think with given time, we'll find out. The game surely isn't dead, but it's not booming either; I firmly do believe that's due to lack of innovation and communication between the players and the company. Most of us have spent over 10 years on the game, and I don't think we'd like to necessarily see it shut down. Heck, I'm pretty sure a good portion of us would volunteer time into it if that meant we got to make it a better game.

I sure do hope changing platforms is the reason why nothing new is happening. But yeah, I wish the company would communicate more with the players, like through in-game emails on updates and future plans for oW

Just want to announce that testing started today on the desktop version. I haven't seen it yet, but as far as I've heard some features may not survive the trip, like Splatterbox and Dance Planet. I'll probably check it out in June or so and be able to share more info then.
