wats up with this fake mpa stuff? started seeing it around lately but not sure wat it's about, dont people always hike up prices like crazy? so why are people calling stuff fake now that certain things have gotten to the same stage as the "popular" crap? mpa go's up and down all the time and it just seems like people r just ignoring it now and going off old prices witch is weird considering there have been many thing hiked up very high and no one called that fake or a scam, from my understanding the market price average is automatically generated off of players selling/trading meaning it an item is, lets say 5,000,000 or even 50,000,000 that means there have been many people who sold it for that price right? i am so confused and this all just seems messed up

These fake MPAs have been around for a pretty long time. Anyone remember when the Carrot Nose was apparently like, 75 mill?

There's two values for items: AMP/MPA (Average Market Price / Marketplace Average) and LSP (Last Sold Price). The MPA is normally what a lot of inexperienced and / or troll traders use for trade offers, especially for items with fake MPAs. Before the store update with the 2008/2009 items, no one was going to trade a pair of Vamp Teeth for a monthly Diadem that the MPA was around 700 mill. Then again no one will do that anyways.

For the most part these MPAs are hiked up due to people selling items for an extremely high price, mainly to transfer coins in some cases. For example if an item's base MPA is, let's say 50,000 coins, and it sells for around 45,000 - 125,000, the MPA will range around those transactions. But once it sells for, let's say, 125 mill, then that MPA shoots up insanely high to around 100 mill. A lot of experienced traders know the real value of items and will not accept items that are listed with obvious fake averages.

Then again, this day and age people probably don't care anymore considering oW's lifespan is slowly coming to an end, or they're selling stuff for real money. 🤷

so basicly best option is to save up coins and wait for some one to sell it sence anyone trading cant go off mpa anymore? that sucks donkey butt.. how are these people keeping track of 1,000's of items anyway .-. the average person aint looking for a mager profit, just a good deal on some thing they like and to get rid of stuff they dont want.. man if anything mager sellers/traders like that asking for double if not TRIPPLE r the scammers here it makes no sence.. and if there selling items for real money doesnt it make more sence to give the money and just trade the item for like 1 coin instead of jacking the price like a dick? transferring coins from one account to another makes sence, so like r they buying coins also how df does that work when there's still flow farming in catwalk? and r people realy stupid enough to still pay other players on a game that has no more updates?? realy?? 😂😂😂

Half the time people don't base trading off of MPA, unless they explicitly say to offer items over MPA.

You could always set up parties and events looking for certain items for trade or sale. You could list items on the Marketplace and ask people to combine your items for whatever you're potentially wanting. You could, as you said, save up coins to buy it, in the case of anyone selling what you're looking for.

and if there selling items for real money doesnt it make more sence to give the money and just trade the item for like 1 coin instead of jacking the price like a dong?

They already do this.

There are people who sell items for money. Yes, it's against ToS. These people who sell items do it off-site, and trade the items to the purchaser for one coin. They don't have people buy an item off-site, and then ramp up MPAs. Some people just have a lot of coins on hand (some of which have hundreds of millions, and very few even have billions) and want to transfer coins that way. Either that, or they're wanting to troll people, which is most likely the case.

The same could be said for the inverse of high MPAs. Before the 2008-2009 item drops on the store, there were certain items that either had the default MPA, a low value MPA, or no MPA at all, however the real value of those items could be extremely high, reaching into the hundred millions and even to the billions.

Sometimes, if no one's trading or selling what you're looking for, the best case scenario is to wait it out, unless you want to start parties and trade events looking for specific items.

kay. so the transferring coins thing, isnt there a tax, so even if there moving coins from one account to another arent they loosing coins also tho? like yea i get it millions/billions coins but thats alot of hard work just to throw some away just moving it, unless some one is selling the coins or something like that but even then it's still loosing some coins cuz the other person still isnt getting the total the original person is sending..

I get what you're saying; I don't get the whole science of moving coins in this way. 🤷 I'm just saying that's what I've seen over the years of people artificially boosting MPAs and moving coins that way.
I'm pretty sure trades and sales have the same coin tax, but I could be wrong.

yea i think the trade/sale tax r the same if i remember right, but it's still weird, only way i can see it makeing sence is if some one is quitting and there giving it away, other then that if some one else need to buy some thing then just use the coins and trade.. unless it's like mtf/ftm items
o-o wow ok.. i just had a brain fart there now i can kinda see it lmao xDD guys and girls cant buy each others clothing so i can see why they'd give each other coins there, either way some one is loosing coins in the end tho so that sucks

People are literally incapable of using anniversary boxes and/or nests for their transfer and instead choose to mess up items people trade.
