It won't let me log in. It says there's connection fail on all 3 of my accounts. I know they're moving the game to a different platform but I wasn't sure what was going to happen to Playtest. Will it be permanently taken down?

Czarcasm wrote:I'm pretty sure we'll still be getting new items. The desktop app works just like the mobile app; it just accesses the data on our servers. So I think we'll have to push out an update to the app every two weeks so it can access the updates. If that's the case, hopefully it's a simple, background process for players.
Cheese Toastie wrote:Hmm, people have been sending in tickets to Zendesk regarding how ourWorld's Client is going to work, and in one of the responses Ooula stated that ''We will not be updating the game once it launches as a downloadable client. There wont be clothing updates beyond this month.''
MareksGregs wrote:Let me get this right, Flowplay decided not to rewrite the game in a new code because it's 13 years old. There are tons of features. It could break easily. And it would require too many hours and resources. Correct ? Well, if what Ooula says is true, and the downloadable client is supposed to serve as a legacy platform.. okay, let that 13 years of work turn into a legacy. BUT, why not start a fresh, new browser game then ? Write it in the new code from the get go, create new features and new items. Most of the hard work is already done (Vegas World). Just use it as a base and make an ourWorld 2.0. or name it something else.
It would be a truly lost opportunity not to do it this way. You'd keep most of the active players on, and having both - the old game and the new, would make all of them happy.
But what will happen instead with this new client is that the players will slowly but surely desert the game and move on due to the lack of updates. And 3 years later the game and the company will be just a distant memory to them.
Czarcasm wrote:Ugh, I think you may be right. I'm waiting to get verification from the lead artist. In the meantime, who is Ooula?
Cheese Toastie wrote:Ooula is Zoe/Ooie, she changed her Zendesk name/account to Ooula a few months ago.

I see. Then I'm gonna change my name to Czarcoolio. And you'll be Cheese Toastie O's.
Czarcasm wrote:The simple answer: money
ourWorld simply doesn't make nearly enough money to justify rebuilding the game. OW makes a very tiny percentage of what Vegas World and Casino World make.
Plus, trust me when I say you don't want the avatar code that's in Vegas World to be used in ourWorld. A lot of clothing items from OW don't work in VW.
